Jewish Family Service (JFS) serves seniors in many ways. Not only do we strive to provide basic needs like food and transportation, we also reach out to reduce isolation, foster community connection and uplift spirits. These activities positively impact our clients' lives.

Cantor Vadim Tunitsky provides personalized musical outreach to seniors through presentations, concerts, life-cycle events and religious services, as well as providing outreach to home-bound seniors or those recovering from an illness.
Kosher meals are prepared under supervision by the Houston Kashrut Association. Frozen meals may additionally be provided, as funding allows. Each meal provides at least one third of the nutritional recommended daily allowance for an individual.
In-home assessment by a JFS case manager may be required to establish eligibility for the Meals on Wheels Program.
J-Ride provides safe, reliable, low-cost, non-emergency transportation for Jewish adults age 60+ and adults with special needs. The program is provided by the ERJCC.
The Senior Chavurot program provides activities for residents living in area senior -living facilities with an emphasis on Jewish-themed topics. Programs are lead by JFS volunteers who share various experiences and stories with the groups.
JFS case managers provide workshops for organizations that want to help seniors and their families navigate their aging journey.
