A Celebration of JFS Houston Leadership

The Jewish Family Service Houston Board of Directors and Past Presidents invite the entire community to attend From Strength to Strength: A Celebration of JFS Houston Leadership.

Linda L. Burger, retiring CEO, will be presented with the Bettie and Bernard Farfel Jewish Family Service Award. Carl Josehart, incoming CEO, will present his vision for JFS Houston and our community.

You are welcome to join us in building an endowment fund to honor Linda L. Burger for her over four decades of service to the community. The Linda L. Burger CEO Discretionary Endowment Fund of the Houston Jewish Family Foundation will provide ongoing resources for the most difficult and sensitive cases at JFS Houston.

When asked what cause would be the most meaningful to her as a legacy, Linda cited the growth of this fund, because of the way in which she was able to quietly help individuals whose situations compelled extraordinary action. After coming to JFS, she focused on building financial assistance resources in response to the pain she felt when there were not enough resources to make a tangible difference in clients’ lives, vowing to never let that happen again.
