Event Overview

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people showing signs of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connects them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self help care. Anyone can take the 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course, but it is ideally designed for adults — teachers, coaches, leaders of faith communities, social workers, and other caring citizens-- who have contact with youth ages 12-18.

Upon completion of the training you will receive a certificate valid for three years.

The delivery of the course has two components:

Part I: Approximately 1.5 hours in length and must be completed prior to Part II.
Part II: Approximately 6 hours in length and is co-lead by Youth MHFA Certified National Instructors on Sunday, October 10 and Sunday October 17 , from 1:00-4:00 PM CST
