our Special Needs Online Resource Guide.

Suspecting or learning that a family member has a disability can be very difficult. Today, many people turn to the Internet to discover what services exist to meet their needs. They also turn to their congregations, their local agencies and their community for resources. This Resource Guide is an on-line introduction to the vast resources that exist in the Jewish and general communities, in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area and beyond. We hope that you will find it useful and helpful.

Links to other websites do not constitute or imply an endorsement of those sites, their content, links, or products and services associated with those sites. Material and links are provided for informational purposes only. Any health information found on any of these sites is not meant to take the place of advice and care from your personal health care provider. For diagnosis or assistance with specific health problems you or a family member may be experiencing, please contact your physician, therapist, dentist or other health professional, who can properly evaluate the condition.

Jewish Family Service Houston does not warrant the service caliber, delivery, appropriateness or timeliness. Those utilizing the Resource Guide are urged to undertake due diligence in researching services and options as may be appropriate for their particular needs. Many services are fee-based and/or have limitations and/or restrictions whether or not noted in this Guide.

Please note that this information and these links are provided for your convenience. Because other people maintain these sites, we cannot guarantee that all the information they offer is accurate or complete. We have sought to list only sites that, at the time we included them, appeared to offer accurate information, and did not appear to include misinformation.

*For the purposes of this Guide, "special needs" includes developmental and functional disabilities: cognitive, mental, physical, psychological and sensory, regardless of age.

For specific information regarding a special needs individual in your life please call JFS Alexander Institute for Jewish Families with Special Needs at (713) 667-9336.
