Village to Village is a national movement with over one hundred programs in current operation and over 100 more Villages in development. These programs organize community members and neighbors to work together to allow neighbors to "age in place" through volunteerism and discounted resources/vendors. After a demographics evaluation, Jewish Family Service determined that zip code 77096 is an area that could be enhanced with the development of a "Village In Place" Community. At this time, our Village concept will be called: Neighbors 4 Neighbors Network (N4NN).
Neighbors 4 Neighbors Network is an innovative project for seniors who want to remain in their own homes. N4NN connects neighbors; facilitates access to a variety of supportive services, cultural and social activities; creates an active caring neighborhood community; and provides volunteer opportunities. N4NN is a volunteer, self-governing organization within a specific geographic boundary (see map here. Please note: These boundaries are not final and most likely will be expanded a bit before Neighbors formally opens.).
If you are interested in learning more about how you can become involved in this new project which could help you, your neighbors and/or family members to age in place, please call 832-998-N4NN (6466) or e-mail Michael Kahlenberg (email@example.com).
