The Tools
Jewish Family Service’s licensed social workers, psychologists and psychiatric residents provide many services that can help restore balance. These include:
- Behavioral problems in school
- Crisis Intervention: finding short term solutions while working toward long term problem-solving techniques
- Skill Building: improving communication, parenting and relationship skills
- Psychiatric Services: assessment and psychotherapy as well as medication management for ongoing JFS clients
- Information and Referral: connection to other community and professional esources that can supplement counseling and/or offer support
- Group Therapy: opportunities to share problems, ideas and solutions with others struggling with similar challenges
Marriage 101
An 8 week course for couples considering marriage, engaged, or recently married Thursday evenings from 7-8:30. Four sessions led by a licensed social worker, one session led by a rabbi, two sessions led by a financial expert Some topics include:
- The Meaning of Love and Commitment
- The Art of Communication
- Conflict - Resolution
- Parents, In-laws and Friends
- Dual-Career Couples
- Sexuality and Marriage
- Money Management
